Folding Mopeds

This little bike was the first in my collection of folding mopeds. The model (with many detail changes) is still in production - the latest iteration having an electric motor. Di Blasi had introduced the R2 folding moped in 1974 and this was replaced with the R7 in 1979. It was imported into the UK by Britax (probably best known for seat belts and child seats) which is why my 1979 early example is branded a "Britax Karribike"
The open, ready to ride bike, as shown above, can be folded down into the small suitcase size as shown below in less than ten seconds without the use of any tools! And it can be opened again in the same amount of time. I've demonstrated this many times at steam fairs!
